  1.  Day 1-7 Gently clean the area by dabbing cool water on your lips with a clean cotton pad or swab. After cleaning, make sure to pat your lips dry with a clean tissue. Use ice pack to help with swelling day 1-2.

  2. After cleaning, use a cotton swab to apply a very thing coat of lip ointment we provide. It is recommended to use lip ointment 3-5 times a day for 2 weeks. Your lips will feel chapped and dry for 2-3 weeks.

  3. Week 1: The lips begin the cracking and peeling stage. This is completely normal.

  4. Week 2-4: Lip may appear light for the first month and appear too light.

  5. Week 8: Color takes up to 8 weeks for the full color to show.

It is crucial that during the healing period that you maintain facial hygiene and AVOID:

  • AVOID Water on your lips in the shower, only clean lips as needed by dabbing cool water on lips and pat dry.

  • AVOID eating foods that can potentially irritate the skin (i.e. spicy, hot, oily, salty, acidic, seafood, etc). Make sure to gently clean your lips and rinse your mouth after each meal.

  • NO KISSING UNTIL PEELING STAGE IS OVER.

  • DO not cover your lips with masks, bandages, plastic wrap, etc.

  • NO swimming, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or tanning bed for 10 days

  • Touching or picking the lips (apply ointment with Q-tip). Picking can lead to color loss, scarring and infection (especially if hands are not clean).

  • Any makeup on the area

  • Workouts that involve a lot of sweating; sauna, facial massage and steaming

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning; swimming; excessive sun exposure (wear a hat when outside for a longer period)

  • Drinking alcohol and smoking in excess (may lead to slow healing)

What to expect during the healing period

  • Your lips will start to darken over the next couple of days and this is normal. Keep in mind that your lips will lighten by 30-50% depending on your skin type.

  • At day 3-5, you can expect your lips to itch and flake. Your lips will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. When the flakes fall off, some areas of the lips may appear too light but with time, the color will resurface. It is crucial that you do not pick/touch your lips to avoid color loss, possible scarring and infection.

  • Total lip healing time is 14 days. You may resume normal activities at 14 days.

  • After 14 days, lips may be light as if they were never done. Final result and color will be at 8 weeks. Please trust the healing process and give it the full time it needs before judging the results.

IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS:

Avoid sunbathing, solarbrium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors. Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can speed pigment fading.
After 14 days, apply sunscreen to the brows when exposed to sunlight to promote longevity. Other ways to extend the color of your brows: being gentle around the brow area when washing your face or when exfoliating avoid the brow area.
Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (fraxel, laser, IPL) because it can destroy the pigments.

Touch Up Appointment

A touchup session is considered a perfection session to fill in any spots that did not take pigment well. Touchups are recommended as everyone heals differently. It can be scheduled anytime after 8 weeks as it takes up to 8 weeks for full results. New procedures are a two step process and final results are sometimes not guaranteed until a follow visit is completed.

***Please keep in mind that results are not 100% guaranteed because everyone’s skin takes permanent makeup differently. But every effort will be made to ensure satisfaction.
